After two years away from refereeing and from Ghana’s second tier matches, Moro Iddrisu is among the shortlisted 70 Referees to officiate the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League.
The Class One Referee, who was based in Ho, has handled several crucial matches across Zone 3 to Zone 1 with aptness and decisiveness.
Named ‘The Peoples Referee’ in the whole of Ashanti Region, the Police Officer, a Detective Corporal, gained promotion to the Division One league in the 2019/2020 season but due to medical reasons, could not make the list in the 2021/2022 season.
Moro who failed to run for the second time, had wanted to retire from the knights of the whistle, but considered those looking up to him as inspiration and run again until he qualified.
Before his two years absence, he manned the 4th official post in the goalless draw game between Young Apostles and Kintampo Fc in Zone 1B at the Sunyani Coronation Park. He actually started refereeing in 2014 in Ho, through the Central Zone Association and rose through the ranks with hard work.
As the Access Bank DOL begins, Moro Iddrisu is ready to give fans a great taste of officiating.
The Law enforcer, whose Office is at Asokwa, hopes to continue to give off his best on the field, to ensure matches always end in praise for all stakeholders, no matter the results.
