A brace from Amos Tetteh secures vital win for Krystal Palace against Golden Kick

Midfielder, Amos Tetteh inspired Akosombo Krystal palace to an emphatic 2-1 win against Golden Kick at the Akotex Park on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Amos, scored in each half to ensure the pride of Akwamu lads pick all 3 points in the penultimate match of the National division one league and was adjudged the Player of the Match for the second time this season.

The tensed match saw a thunderbolt strike from Amos in the 9’, 20 yards out when he was set up by Bismark Asante.

Richard Tetteh had forced a good save to corner from a freekick earlier when Krystal were piling pressure to break the dead lock. Midway into the game, top scorer of Krystal, Aboah Kofi Donkor tried a shot after winning the ball at the edge of the box but was off target.

With 6 minutes to the break, Dacosta Owusu drew parity from the spot, after Michael brought down an attacker deep at the touch line.

Krystal went into the second half with full force and with some tactical changes, had more possession and piled more men forward for the lead again.

A great telepathy between Emmanuel Martey and Bismark Asante was a delight to watch, with Amos Tetteh making a lot of runs on the flanks.

It paid off, when Emmanuel Martey was brought down in the penalty area by the goalkeeper after a flick from Bismark Asante in the 78’. Paul Yanney had come on to add to the attacking force in the 64’.

Amos Tetteh stepped up and beautifully converted to set the home fans ablaze in the 80’.

Krystal lived dangerously a bit as they pushed to cushion the lead and find Golden Kick on the counter.

Kwabena Nyenduro and Ezekiel Teye Acheampong were then brought on to stabilize the defense and consolidate the 2-1 victory.

Efforts from Jacob Kwasi, Bernard Holdbrook, Mohammed Kabiru and captain Yaw Dwomoh cannot be written off.

Coach Otis Asante says, it was an important win.

“It was a very important win for us, because you can realise the league is at the curve and everybody is trying to win games and finish hard and we are ok with it. Tactically my boys were good, only as players as they are, there will be little mistakes here and there.”

Krystal Palace still sit 15th, tied on 30 points with Nania Fc on 14th and will play their final game away to Accra City Stars.
