Akosombo Krystal Palace defeated Uncle T United by 3-2 at the Akotex Park in a Match Day 20 fixture of the division one league on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
The pride of Akwamu lads who dominated play and created lots of chances, this time utilized 3 of them, with Emmanuel Arthur finding the back of the net on the 10’ with a beautiful assist from Bismark Asante. It was Arthur’s first goal of the season.
Bismark, had earlier come close to scoring but a pass to Aboah Kofi Donkor, saw him slip on the ball before his left foot effort got blocked in the 6’.
Uncle T were not a write off, as they created their own chances but to the brilliant saves from Mubarak Zakari. Emmanuel Arthur came close with a volley in the 31’. Before the half break, Courage Gbeve pulled out a nice cross but it missed everyone, including Bismark Asante and Aboah Kofi Donkor.
The midfield telepathy between Kabiru, David Asare and Richard Tetteh was so much desired of.
Back from recess, captain David Asare cushioned the lead with a screamer of a freekick in the 65’ from the edge of the box; won by Bismark Asante in the 63’. That was the captains first goal as well for the season.
Super midfielder Mohammed Kabiru and right back Maxwell Yeboah Segoe were both booked in the second half for bad tackle and indiscipline.
Emmanuel Essel, Emmanuel Danyo, Amos Tetteh and Kennedy Tu-Leo all came in to contribute their quota to the victory.
Kennedy Tu-Leo also got his first goal for the season, on the 72’ after beating the offside trap and slotting home Krystal’s 3rd, with assist from Emmanuel Arthur. Tu was introduced in the 7 minutes earlier.
2 minutes later, a super sub for the away side, bringing on Derrick Ababio brought the game to balance, as Richard Owusu beat Mubarak by inches, as his shot from inside the box hit the side of the post before the back of the net.
The fans went silent for a while as they expected a clean sheet with more goals. Jacob Kwasi and Kwabena Nyenduro marshalled the defense and ensured victory is assured as away side piled pressure in the dying minutes of the game.
Richard Owusu got a brace on the day with a freekick in the 89’ as the away side pushed more men forward.
Krystal Palace held on, also firming the midfield while pushing for another cushion, with Emmanuel Danyo, who replaced injured Bismark Asante finding himself flagged off, with a fine opportunity.
Despite the win, Krystal Palace remains 14th with 22 points and will next travel to face Vision Fc at the Theatre of Dream at Dawu for Match Day 21.
