Alpha Cricket Club remains unbeaten in the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) T20 League after a commanding 10-wicket victory on Sunday, February 16, 2025, against Hurricanes Cricket Club.
Winning the toss, Hurricanes elected to bat first. Their highest scorer was Pankaj Gaur, who managed 15*(17), lasting 25 minutes at the crease until Alpha bowled them all out in 17.2 overs for just 63 runs.
Bharani Kumar got the first wicket in the second over, clean bowling Arora. Isaac Aboagye grabbed the second wicket in the third over with another clean bowled. With no wickets falling in the fourth over, Frank Baaleri ran out Amar Singh at 4.5 overs while Hurricanes had just 17 runs on the scoreboard.
Bharani ensured he remained top of the bowling chart with his second wicket in the 5.3 over, thanks to Halim’s beautiful catch to dismiss Harish Thakur.
Michael Aboagye, one of the club’s sensational spin bowlers, was introduced and picked up three wickets across the seventh and ninth overs. Michael wasn’t done yet; he secured another wicket in the 11th over, finishing with impressive figures of 3.0-0-10-4.
Raja wrapped up the innings for Hurricanes by taking the final two wickets, leaving Alpha with a modest target of 64 runs to win their sixth match.
It took Bharani Kumar Majji and Aris (16* off 17) just eight overs to chase down the target. Bharani earned his fourth Player of the Match accolade, scoring 46 runs off 31 balls (not out) and adding bowling figures of 4.0-0-20-2.
Alpha Cricket Club now sits at the top of Qualifier B with 12 points from six victories and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.0. They are followed closely by Salt n Pepper, who have 10 points and an NRR of +1.8.
The sponsorship support from Golden Dragon Casino-Osu, Tyretrendz, Binatone, and Indomie is evident in the stellar performance of Alpha Cricket Club, who have one more match to complete their Division One Qualifier B campaign before advancing to the Premier League.
