Awatsonya & Arthur first half goals secure victory for Kings Palace against Akatsi All Stars

Forwards Samuel Awatsonya and Emmanuel Arthur’s two first half goals helped Kings Palace secure their third home victory in the ongoing Access Bank Division One League against Akatsi All Stars on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

The Match Day 6 tie saw the best friends hit the back of the net from two brilliants pull outs; one from Bless Benuyena (eventual player of the match) for Samuel Awatsonya’s 2’ goal and the second from left back Courage Gbeve for Emmanuel Arthur’s swift header in the 30’.

Kings Palace won the game by 3-2 and are now 3rd on the league table with 10 points, as Frank Adjie Danso got their 3rd in the 73’ after a brilliant pass from Isaac Tetteh Wodjo, when they turned defense into a counter attack.

Akatsi All Stars got their two goals from Faisal Charwetey in the 38’ and the 90+1’.

Samuel Awatsonya who was top scorer for the pride of Akwamu lads last season now has 3 goals from 6 matches, while best friend and player of the 2022/23 season Emmanuel Arthur has 2 goals to his credit so far.

Both players were instrumental in the 3rd straight home win as they play pivotal roles in the success of the Team. Arthur, Team captain in a utility player who has a drive that threatens goalkeepers, while Awatsonya with good recovery also posses a lot of threat to defenders with his ability to take on.
