Kumasi Based class one Referee, Moro Iddrisu has been named to officiate the Ghana Premier League week 9 encounter between Berekum Chelsea and Basake Holy Stars at the Golden City Park on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
The Law Enforcer who has proven his capabilities in officiating matches to the satisfaction of all, has been offered another opportunity by the referee’s appointment committee to showcase his effectiveness on the field of play.
Moro, gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League, after a season stint in the Division One league.
His first Premier League match was on October 6, when Gold Stars defeated Bechem Utd by a lone goal in a week 5 encounter while Rustum Gameli Senorgbe manned the fourth official post. Interestingly, his 2nd match this Sunday will also see the Ho based SWAG Referee of the year 2022/23 season as his fourth.
Roland Addy and Ernest Akatey will assist Moro on the lines, with Kasim Abubakar as the Match Commissioner.
Newbies Holy Stars currently sit 2 places above the relegation zone with 8 points, having won 2 drawn 2 and lost 4, in their 8 outings. A win away, like they did to Hearts of Oak will booster their survival in Ghana’s top flight.
Berekum Chelsea find themselves 6th with 13 points and Boadu’s are yet to lose at home this season, as they face Holy Stars for the first time. The Blues have however lost 1 match in their last 5, winning 3, losing 1, with 4 draws.
Moro Iddrisu, popularly known as ‘The People’s Referee’ is expected to give the match a wonderful experience for the admiration of all, as he effects the laws of the game, with kick off at 3pm.
