The 1993 year batch of Christian M.A Junior High School at Bomso in Kumasi, has refurbished the computer laboratory of the school with the installation of 20 desktop computers and other gadgets worth Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 30,000).
The group said the gesture which was meant to enhance effective ICT education and training of the students, was in response to an appeal made by the headmaster of the school Mr. Oscar Kwame Asumang to the old students for support to improve practical computer training in the school after some executives had visited the facility they assisted in servicing a few years ago.
Other items presented by the group are computer WIFI connectivity device, a printer, 43-inch coloured Television and 30 chairs. They also added PPEs for use by the students of the school to avoid the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
Mr. Sandison Annor, who is the President of the 1993 year batch, led the group to present the computers and the other items to the school. In his speech, he said the group will continue to aid their alma mater to endure proper administration of the school.
He called on other year groups of the school and all key stakeholders of the school to contribute their quota to mobilize resources to help improve and equip the students not only to pass their exams, but also to acquire the requisite skills that would make them competitive on the job market.
Mr. Oscar Kwame Asumang on his part commended the group for their timely response and indicated that such collaboration was needed to help improve the academic performance of the students since the government cannot provide everything that the school need.
