In an effort to create a pool of players for the national Cricket Women’s team, the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) has scheduled dates for three of its hubs for camps dubbed “Senior Women’s Emerging Camp.”
The 2-day camp for each of the hubs, begins with Eastern Region U-19 selected side at the Achimota Cricket Oval for Saturday and Sunday, January 14 and 15, 2023.
It continues the following weekend for another U-19 selected side from Central Region, also at the Achimota Cricket Oval on Saturday & Sunday, January 21 and 22, 2023.
At the Obuasi Oval, all U-19 selected players in the Ashanti Region will gather for their camping for Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29 2023.
Head Coach of the Women’s national team, Obed Harvey will use to time to further train the players while looking for potential national team players.
It will also serve as a talent discovery for national U-19 set up, that will be feeding the senior national team when the need be in the future.
The importance of this camp is enormous, as the GCA looks forward to a successful event, while keep eyes on future international competitions.
