Rana Motors cruised to another victory in the Ghana Cricket Association Division 1 League Qualifier A, on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Achimota Cricket Oval.
With consistent performance against Evolve Paint on week 1, Richmond Baaleri 65(54) won his second Player of the match accolade as Rana Motors won toss and scored a remarkable 148-2, limiting Bangle Tigers to 54-10 in 13.2 overs in the second innings to win by 94 runs.
Baaleri, has so far scored 111 runs, with a strike rate of 118.09, leading the batting performance chat. He has scored a total of 12 boundary 4’s and 2 sixes, crossing half century once.
Hari Prasad Mohanty recorded good bowling figures 3.0-0-15-3, whereas Shijo Devasia also took 4.0-1-7-2. Although Bangle Tigers lost, Ah Shahed took 4.0-0-13-2. Rana Motors, thus are top of the Division 1 league A table with 4 points after 2 matches.
Later in the afternoon, Supreme Cricket Club after winning toss and electing to bat first kept falling like logs in the forest in their game against BGC, to wrap up a disappointing first innings with 41-10 in 10.5 overs. Gaurav Sharda’s magical deliveries won him Player of the Match with 4.0-1-10-4, while team mates Kapil Jangir (3.0-0-9-3) and Hassan Ali Shah (2.0-1-7-2) contributed to Supremes woes.
In the second innings, BGC scored 43/2 in 9.1 overs and won the game by 8 wickets. Kapil Butola scored 19 runs off 18 balls not out, after coming on as the 3rd batter, while Supreme’s captain Obed Harvey, took all 2 wickets, giving away 15 runs in 4 overs.
BGC currently lie 2nd with 2 points, and Defenders follow with 2 points. Ras Binghi Cricket Club, who are yet to play, together with losers, Evolve Paints, Bangle Tigers, Carel Super Kings and Supreme Fc are all with no points.
Ras Binghi is billed to lock horns with Supreme on Saturday, December 14 in the morning, while two other matches will be played; Evolve Paints against BGC and Defenders vs Bangle Tigers.
