Cricket: Senior Female players to create Breast Cancer Awareness in a PinkDay T20 Bash at Obuasi

In a bid to further create awareness and limit Breast Cancer in our society, the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) is organizing a 1-day PinkDay T20 Bash at the KNUST Obuasi Campus Cricket Oval on Saturday, October 21, at 10am.

It is going to be an unforgettable single T20 match between the Crushers and Twinkle Ladies alongside free breast screening for men and women from Anglogold Health Foundation and the Obuasi Municipal Hospital who are partnering this initiative.

Mainly Sponsored by the Underground Mining Alliance (UMA), Senior Female players from across Ghana’s Cricket hubs; Obuasi, Accra, Cape Coast, Winneba, Saltpond, Tarkwa, Kumasi, Ejura, Accra Akosombo and Nyankumasi have been invited by the national female coach, Obed Harvey to be part of this eventful PinkDay T20 Bash.

Team Crushers is led by captain Rozabel Asumadu and has the likes of Mary Nzibah, Patricia Suglo, Eva Kordie, Deborah Takyi, etc, while Team Twinkle Ladies, with captain Rhyda Amanfo has Hannah Assan, Emmanuella Abdulai, Grace Quaicoo, Fati Siedu, etc, all ready to battle for glory and awareness.

With continuous education to the general public, October, in the future will be used to celebrate joy of overcoming breast cancer.

It will however not only be about winning the PinkDay T20 Bash, but also collectively eradicating the menace as the cricket world takes pride in this initiative to further spread the breast cancer awareness through cricket matches.  

Bel Aqua is also providing drinks as support to this wonderful event at Obuasi.
