Dreams Fc advanced to the last quarter of the 2023/24 MTN Fa Cup after thrashing Koforidua Semper FI 4-1 on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Dawu.
The Defending champions who are doing well in all three competitions this season will play Club African of Tunisia come Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Assistant Coach of Dreams, Winfred Dormon says their 4-1 win over Semper FI, a rather difficult game, gives them a momentum ahead of the Club African match.
“It was not too easy. It was a very difficult game. We were coming from a long break and we needed to put the team together even as we prepare for the league and the confederation cup. You realize that the players were struggling, as the pattern play was not there, but we were rewarded with an own goal and we build upon it. We are back to the road and this game will give us momentum as we play Club African, very crucial game in Kumasi.”
Dreams Fc are currently 2nd in Group C with 9 points and would need a win to secure a place in the knockout stage come Sunday, as Club African occupy the 1st spot with same points while Rivers Utd lie 3rd with 6 points after 4 matches.
Dormon, however believes there is time to put the players in better condition before they face Club African.
“We have plenty to correct, but we have time to work on the rough edges, put the team in fine shape and make sure the mentality and the physical condition is right for the Club African game.
Dreams Fc is poised to push farther in all competitions this season, including defending the MTN Fa Cup which took them to Africa and finishing the league at a decent position.
