The establishment of Christianity, from the genesis of Adam till now, has been a power struggle between light and darkness. After man lost his glory and recognition as the image of God, it became necessary to restore that glory. In God’s own wisdom and will for the perfection of humankind, He provided an opportunity to restore and redeem that image by bringing Jesus Christ to neutralize the equation in our favour and experience The Calabash Grace.
God’s grace is usually defined as undeserved favour. Grace cannot be earned; it is something that is freely given. We count on God’s grace and the bridge He built in our relationship with Him. The undeserved favour is given through Jesus Christ, and it doesn’t depend on your status or background but your closeness and relationship with Christ. The calabash is a fruit shell, and when the fruit is taken away, the shell is the calabash. There is something unique about this calabash: the power of floating on the surface of water no matter the storm. So when we say Be unleashed for the Calabash Grace, it means the readiness to experience the floating grace from God. Acts 1:8 declares and summarizes how to experience this floating grace as the disciples waited and tarried for the Holy Spirit to receive power to do exploits, which not only changed their identity as well. When we are endowed with the Spirit, nothing can press us down.
Joseph, son of Jacob, went through a lot in life. Despite enduring trials and snares by the devil through his brothers, he never forsook his God, even to the point of imprisonment. He knew the dream God had shown him, but his brothers wanted to twist it. They didn’t know that spiritually, Joseph was made with the Calabash Grace—the grace that cannot be pressed, shaken, overturned, destroyed, or twisted. When the time was due, God made Joseph float for his brothers to see where God had purposed for him. Never lose hope in whatever you are passing through; just pray for the Calabash Grace. In His time, things will be beautiful.
1 Samuel 16:13—David also experienced the Calabash Grace. When Samuel stepped into his father’s house to anoint the one the Lord had chosen, his father was looking at stature, age, and background, but he didn’t know the Calabash Grace doesn’t deal with such qualifications. Rather, it deals with whom the Lord has chosen or whose time is due. Samuel asked, “Are these all your sons?” The father responded, “No, there is one shepherding the flocks.” Samuel said, “Go and call him.” As David entered, Samuel said, “This is the chosen one.” The floating grace revealed David. May you receive this grace. Whatever your hand finds to do, I pray that the Lord locates you with the Calabash Grace. Anyone with this kind of grace can’t be hidden or sunk; all eyes will see your greatness as predestined by God.
Brethren, take heart in any moment of pain, waiting, and indecision. Pray for such grace, and the Lord will intervene. Take Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. God bless you.
