The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a nationwide mid-term break for all basic schools.
The much-anticipated break is scheduled from Friday, October 31 to Monday, November 3, 2025.
Daniel Fenyi, the GES Public Relations Officer, confirmed in a statement that there will be no classes for both teachers and learners during the period, as the break is already captured in the current academic calendar.
“Basic schools will, for the first time, observe a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, as already reflected in the academic calendar,” the statement read.
The GES explained that the short break is designed to allow teachers and learners to rest and rejuvenate ahead of the final stretch of the term.
The directive applies to all public basic schools operating under the Ghana Education Service.
