Ghana Cricket Heroes to be honored in a One-Day Fun Game tomorrow

The Achimota Cricket Oval C will see a section of old and current cricket players engage in a day’s fun T20 game to honor gone Heroes of the gentleman’s sport.

Scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 24, at 9am, organisers promise to honor their cherished but past heroes with a display of their wonderful performances amidst fun.

With ex-players like Simon Ateak, former national captain, Peter Ananya, Rufus Ntiamoah, Vincent Ateak, Francis Bakiweyem, Richmond Baaleri, Julius, Isaac Aboagye, and current players like Samson Awiah, James Vifah, Rexford Bakum, and Kofi Bagabena, the cricket Oval is expected to be full of ‘boowlliiing’ and ‘shoott’

The T20 mixed game will be played in memory of Philip Salathiel Taylor (Ras Bingi), Prince Daniel Vanderpuye-Orgle, David Kwesi Quargraine, Braimah Issaka, Henry Benjamin Ackom, Minesh Singh, Prajul Pillai, Festus Apedo and Reindolf Boateng.

Having played vital roles in the development and promotion of the game cricket, Ras Bingi was a former coach and the very person to introduce cricket to the anumle community and others around. He produced national players, some of who are currently playing.

While David Kwesi Quagraine was former president of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA), Prince Daniel Vanderpuye-Orgle was a former player and President of GCA., while Braimah Issaka was an ex groundsman.

The recently sad exit is Henry Benjamin Ackom, who was former player, Cricket operations office and board member of the current executive board.        

The rest, Minesh was a former team manager of the senior national men’s team, a former player, and a sponsor of the poly group cricket team; Prajul, a former national senior team player; Festus, a former senior national player and last but not the least, Reindolf, a former scorer.

All lovers of cricket and enthusiasts, plus those new to the game are invited to come feed their eyes with a great game.
