Ghanaian midfielder James Akaminko seals move to Tanzanian side Azam FC

Ghanaian midfielder James Akaminko has joined Tanzanian powerhouse Azam FC on a free transfer on Thursday.

The 26-year-old left Great Olympics of the Ghana Premier League and has signed a two-year contract with the Tanzanian team.

The club’s official statement reads;

“We are happy to announce that we have signed two-year contract with Ghanaian midfielder James Akaminko, leaving Great Olympics”

Akaminko previously had stints with Medeama SC, Tema Youth, AshantiGold SC and Tunisian side US Tataouine.

He becomes the second Ghanaian footballer after Augustine Okrah to join a club in Tanzania after the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Akaminko netted twice in his 28 appearances for Great Olympics last season.
