The second round of the ongoing Sapholda Hockey League has recorded 21 goals in all 6 matches played in the Senior Men and Ladies category at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
With the lowest goals in a game being 2, Police Ladies, Exchequers, Army and Reformers recorded great wins, with at least 3-0 margin over their opponents.
The Ladies maintain their spots on the table
Police Ladies sealed a double victory over Legonknights with a 5-0 scoreline. Police, repeated same scoreline margin with their week 7 encounter, played on June 21, in the first round, ending 6-1 in favor of the law enforcers.
A penalty corner and 4 brilliant field goals were recorded in the mauling of Legonknights by Police Ladies. Regina Mensah scored in the first minute, but Legonknights fought back and kept things at par, while missing couple of chances. They let their guards down and Police got their cushion 9 minutes into the 3rd quarter via a penalty corner scored by Nafisatu Omaru.

The third goal was scored Lydia Tenkoreng, 4 minutes to wrap up the 3rd quarter. Two more goals were scored from Queencilla Agyemang and Evelyn Fiador in the last quarter.
Police are now a point behind Army, 12 points and +11 goals and 3rd, whereas Legonknights still lie bottom with just a point and -23 goals.
Reformers Ladies and Extinguishers repeated their 1-1 results in the first round and shared 2 points each.
Reformers, yet again scored first through a Penalty corner by captain Benedicta Adjei on the 19’, before her opposing captain, Joanita Korwu also scored from the same penalty corner 7 minutes later. Both maintain their spots on the Ladies table; Extinguishers 4th with 7 points and Reformers 5th with 5 points.
Army Ladies tried to revenge their 2-1 loss to defending champions, GRA on June 21, but rather lost on clean sheet to the latter. A penalty corner, from the stick of Captain Elizabeth Opoku on the 8’ and a field goal by Ernestina Coffie on the 42’ ensured GRA stretch their lead at top of the table to 8 points away from nemesis Army Ladies. GRA are now with 21 points and +23 goals difference, while Army remains 2nd with 13 points and +2 goals.
GRA suffer another defeat to defending champions
Exchequers continue their reign on GRA Men and reclaimed the top spot of the Men table with 17 points, while GRA drop to 3rd with 15 points.
Two (2) wonderful penalty corners by no other than Quagraine Kofi Okyere and a penalty stroke by Elorm Akaba in-between, was all Exchequers needed to complete a 10-3 win over GRA in both first a second rounds of the league. On July 12, a week 10 encounter, GRA suffered a 7-0 thrashing to the defending champions.
Army moves up after 6-0 win
Army climbed to 2nd with 16 points after a 6-0 demolition of Legonknights. Having fought hard to upset Army in their week 10 encounter, although they lost 3-2, Legonknights lost it all from the beginning and could not find their rhythm this time.
Eric Dzotsi got a brace with 2 great field goals while Courage Osafo wrapped the day up. Abdul Malik and Addison Abdellah were not left out, as well as captain Stephen Ofosu Asamoah who started it all on the 21’ with a penalty corner opportunity.
Reformers Men picks 3rd win
Ark Men are also still in search of their first victory in the league. The Academy lads who play well but lack the cutting edge, lost 3-0 to Reformers Men. Managing a 2-1 win on July 12, Reformers picked their 3rd win of the season with goals from Ebenezer Mettle Annang, Emmanuel Lamptey and Fredrick Darko.
Reformers are with 9 points and 5th, while Ark Men lie top of the bottom with 2 points.
Week 14 of the Sapholda sponsored league, comes shortly with more exciting match ups at the Theodosia Oko Hockey Stadium.
