The Ho Stars Handball Club in collaboration with the Volta Regional Handball Association has put together a one-day Handball gala, scheduled to be played at the Ho Sports Stadium on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
The one-day gala is purposed to keep the players active, while encouraging friendship and socialization among participating clubs within the volta and Oti regions.
It is also to revive the handball league and create awareness for clubs that wish to participate in the league after contact sport ban was lifted due to covid-19.
With Five (5) clubs confirming their participation, the gala is also to enhance and further development and promotion of the sport in the region.
With a single round robin for 2 groups of 3 male teams and a single round robin for 3 participating female teams, champions will be presented with trophies and medals.
Set to begin at 7am, Akpini Stars Handball Club from Kpando, Ephors Handball Club from Nkwanta, South Tongu Talents Handball Club, Hohoe Handball Club, Ho Stars Handball Club, and Ho Technical University Handball Club will battle for the ultimate, in unity and revival for supremacy.
It expects to be a memorable day of Handball in the Volta capital, Ho, where spectacular saves and great jumps and blocks at goal will be seen.
Executive of the Volta Regional Handball Association (VRHA), as well as notable handball lovers from Accra are expected to grace the one-day gala. The VRHA is set to begin the league which was halted 2 years ago and this gala offers a great opportunity to launch the revival.
