CI Kamsar Ghanaian defender, Amos Frimpong has stated his side will need to be disciplined and hardworking to be able to oust Hearts Of Oak when the two sides lock horns in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The 29-year-old former Asante Kotoko captain joined the Guinean club last week.
He will be facing the Phobians in his first major outing in a continental battle that promises to be cagey.
Frimpong believes that Kamsar has what it takes to eliminate the Ghanaian champions although they(Hearts Of Oak ) have a formidable side.
“I watched their games against Medeama and AshantiGold in the MTN FA Cup and based on what I saw I believe it will take a discipline and a hard-working team to defeat Hearts Of Oak in 90 minutes, ” Frimpong told Hello FM.
“But everything is possible in this world so Hearts are beatable. I have trained with my new team and I can say that they have quality players to compete or match Hearts Of Oak boot for boot.
“We are preparing very well and I know that after the two legs my club will progress to the next stage.
“Honestly, I can’t single out one player at the team because they have an all-round team. We will have to watch them closely to win, ” he concluded.
The first leg is scheduled for September 10 – 12 in Guinea with the second leg expected to come off on September 19 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The winner after the two legs will meet Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the next round for a spot in the group stage.
Hearts last played in Africa in 2015 and will be hoping to excel after securing double on the local scene.
