Kings Palace’ Mohammed Kabiru grabs first MVP in stalemate against Home Stars

Kings Palace’ Midfield Dynamic, Mohammed Kabiru was adjudged the Most Valuable Player in the Access Bank Match Day 8 tie between Kings Palace and debutants Home Stars Fc.


The Sunday’s rained off match played in the early hours of Monday, November 27, 2023 saw Kabiru play his maiden full throttle since the season began.


The passer, played 6 minutes in Kings Palace’ 3-2 win over Akatsi All Stars on Match Day 6 on November 12, after he substituted Isaac Wodjo in the 88’ and also featured for 37 minutes in the 0-0 stalemate against Semper FI on Match Day 7 on Sunday, November 19, replacing Mohammed Sheibu.


The 18-year-old was outstanding in the draw game with interceptions, wonderful and accurate passes, a shot on target, winnings duels, covering up positions and few dribbles.


The hardworking midfielder suffered a knee ligament injury before the start of the 2022/23 season and although recovered before the season ended, missed all matches. He was instrumental in Kings Palace’ survival in the 2021/22 season, having played 24 out of 30 matches in his maiden Division One stint.

The Kpong based player rose to Kings Palace Division One team through their youth team together with 8 other players.

It was the second barren for Kings Palace in a row and their 3rd draw out of 5 matches. The pride of Akwamu lads have won 3 matches, lost 2 and drew 3 and are yet to lose at home.

Kings Palace remain 5th with 12 points and will next travel to face Hohoe Utd for Match Day 9.
