Akosombo Krystal Palace secured their second away win in the ongoing division one league with a 2-0 victory over Mighty Jets at the MATS Park in Teshie on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

The match day 23 fixture saw Samuel Nanaba Ankomah find the back of the net for the first time this season in the 50’. Nanaba who had missed many matches due to arm string injury latched onto a loosed ball, 5 minutes into the second half after Aboah Kofi Donkor had struggled with the goalkeeper, a cross from David Anderson.

Aboah, on the day got his sixth goal on the 42’. A one-two with Selorm Loy-Klogo with good enough to give him time and space to shoot in-between the legs of the goalkeeper.

With the away side pushing for a consolation, Kabiru Mohammed was hit in the centre and had to be replaced in the 70’ by Amos Tetteh.

The Pride of Akwamu lads dominated the second half, as Bernard Holdbrook-Smith and captain David Asare exhibited exceptional play but chances went begging.

Defender Afotey Odai was given few minutes, to wrap up the game to stabilize the defense while Emmanuel Essel and Emmanuel Arthur came on for Esmond Nanor and Samuel Nanaba.

Assistant Coach, Otis Asante who is now in charge after the resignation of J.E Sarpong believes the win puts more pressure on them.

“The win doesn’t make me feel good, only that we have a lot of pressure on us. Although it is a relieve, we have to work hard and keep winning. The boys are committed for the game, and everybody was trying to go the extra mile and ensure they are committed to the team tactics as well and all that; so that did the trick.”

Krystal Palace thus completes a double over the Tudu boys as they defeated Mighty Jets by same margin at home on Match Day 8, (January 9, 2022) via 2 great freekicks from Donee Adabla.
