It was more disappointing to the players themselves who saw a revenge on Inter Allies at the Akotex Park on Match Day 18 of the ongoing National Division One League on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
The Pride of Akwamu lads fell behind in the 75’ through Alex Aso, after wasting lots of chances in both halves.
Inter Allies even saw an impossible point from the Akotex Park but finally run away with a 1-0 win, beating Krystal Palace, both home and away.
The Chances started pouring in for the home side in the 2’ when Kabiru Mohammed started a counter, beat 3 men and passed Paul Yanney but delayed in moving into position. Richard Tetteh shoots in the 4’ from a corner kick and goalkeeper fumbles but no one to follow up.
In the 14’, Bismark Asante was located by Courage Gbeve but he goes for a volley which went over the bar. 7 minutes later, Bismark went for a rebound but was just over the bar.
On the half hour mark, captain Esmond Nanor also had a rebound from a corner taken by Courage Gbeve but miskicks. Esmond had another 2 minutes later from another corner taken quickly and yet again over the bar. His Glorious of the chances was in the 33’ were he had all to break the dead lock but shot went wide.
The fans grew wild as lots of chances were being squandered. Esmond came close 5 minutes into recess, after connecting from Maxwell Yeboah Segoe but his shot deep in the half was blocked for a corner.
At the other end, Kwabena Nyenduro went in thick in defense and got booked for that tackle.
Back from recess, Paul Yanney’s effort 2 minutes on was denied by the cross bar after which Bismark had himself to blame when he passed a ball, he was supposed to just shoot in for a goal in the 55’.
On the 63’, goalkeeper brought Bismark down who was running for a pass from Kennedy Tu-Leo but referee had none of it. Aboah Kofi Donkor, Bless Benuyena, and Emmanuel Arthur brought in new energy in the 66’. 7 minutes later, Aboah got booked.
Moments later Alex Aso connected from a freekick when the defense let their guard down.
The Away side took the lead through the lead striker from their only chance of the game and it was time to fight for a point.
Youngster Bless Benuyena, connected a pass from Aboah Jofi but his shot found the stretching legs of the goalkeeper in the 83’. Kennedy also beat 2 but his shot was parried to corner which was cleared in the 90’.
Inter Allies recorded a double win over Krystal Palace and climb to 12th with 21 points, while Krystal fall to 13th with 19 points.
Officials from Korba, who are kit sponsors were present to make official their deal with the Club and encouraged the players after the match, believing in their capabilities.
Krystal will next travel to the WAFA Park on Wednesday, March 30 to face debutants, Akatsi All Stars.
