The midweek Match Day 26 tie against Kotoku Royals at Oda, started gradual with both sides finding their rhythm.

Kotoku took charge after 10 minutes but the pride of Akwamu lads soaked the pressure and handled it well, with Mubarak Zakari pulling some fantastic saves.

Off course, the game couldn’t go without fans causing mayhem. Around the 20′, an unknown official walked into the inner perimeter and started interrupting with the work of the Media Relations Officer of Krystal.

Samuel Nanaba, Emmanuel Martey, Tanko Mohammed and Kennedy Tu-Leo, with great passes from captain David Asare tormented the defence of the home team but their efforts couldn’t just find the back of the net.

Coach Otis after the loss, says his tactics worked but they were unfortunate on the day.

“Losing is part of the game, when it comes you accept it and move on. It was a game full of tactics, you’ll realize I wasn’t playing much offensively, in was not attacking in the first but trying to absorb from there and see how I can come in strongly which I did in the second half but unfortunately we couldn’t find the back of the net.”

Although Krystal Palace lost the game, their safest pair of hands, Mubarak Zakari, was adjudged Player of the Match.

The fans of the pride of akwamu lads are not elated about the results but the team spirit is on, to move away from the drop zone with 4 matches more to go.

Krystal Palace will welcome Nania FC for Match Day 27 at the ATL Akotex Park on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
