Krystal Palace remain in relegation zone after Vision fc loss

Akosombo Krystal Palace Academy after a hard-fought game against Vision Fc at the Dawu Stadium on match day 21, lost by 1-0 on Saturday, April 9, 2021.

The game was physical from the beginning as both teams needed the maximum points to move away from the relegation zone and until the 10’, the game wasn’t settled. Within same minute, Emmanuel Arthur tries a shot after dispossessing his marker but the ball kept flying and went over the bar.

5 minutes later, Aboah Kofi Donkor chased a long ball and after beating his marker, placed a searching one for Frank Adjei whose control on the chest was too much, as the goalkeeper grabs.

Left back David Anderson also tried a shot, after long pass by Maxwell from the right flank but off target again in the 17’. The battle in the midfield was becoming fierce with Amos Tetteh and captain David Asare trying to push men forward.

3 minutes in, Frank Abora found himself alone and headed home from a freekick won just outside the penalty area, which got Aboah furious, questioning the assistant line 2, Adams Abdul Samad, who shook the flag for the foul.

The tempo of the game increased as Krystal started to work towards getting back on level pegging. An air ball challenge got Vision player landing on the legs of Richard Tetteh in the 24’, but referee allowed play to continue before calling to the hold up.

Michael Cobbinah then replaced Tetteh, as it looked certain he can’t continue the game in the 28’. Little chances were created before the break.

In the 49’, captain David Asare shouted on centre referee Wonder Ablordeppey, who took a foul against him after he won possession clearly. Asare was shown yellow card for his second complain after similar decision. Amos Tetteh consequently received yellow card.

For the first time, Head Coach J.E Sarpong confronted an assistant referee, Emmanuel Akandee, who stopped flagging, not until the centre referee has pointed which side a throw in favors.

Yaya Musah, Kennedy Tu-Leo and Richard Ali were all brought on later and on the 70’ minute, Emmanuel Arthur delayed a shot which could have put the pride of Akwamu lads level, after Aboah located him in the penalty area.

It was a gallant loss for Krystal Palace who remained 14th with 22 points after 21 matches.

At home on Sunday, April 17, Krystal Palace will welcome Heart of Lions for the match day 22.
