Kumasi High School beat Prempeh, OWASS to win 2024 NSMQ Ashanti Regional Championship

Kumasi High School (KUHIS) has emerged winners of the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Ashanti regional competition.

In the regional finale, Kumasi High School competed against Prempeh College and Opoku Ware School on Tuesday at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School in Kumasi.

KUHIS finished the interesting contest with 46 points, with Opoku Ware School placing second with 36 points. Prempeh College secured third place with 23 points despite finishing first in the semi-finals against Anglican Senior High School, Osei Tutu SHS, and St. Hubert Seminary SHS.

In the semi-final competition, Kumasi High School came second to Opoku Ware School in the first contest, but they made it to the final because they (KUHIS) were the highest-scoring semifinal runner-up.

The National Science and Maths Quiz is an annual science and mathematics content-based national-level quiz competition organized for senior high schools in Ghana.

The national championship is scheduled for later this year.

Kumasi High School is expected to have a huge celebration for the victory as the school culminates its 60th anniversary this month, with a grand durbar scheduled for Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at Gyinase.

A few weeks ago, Kumasi High School again won the Luv FM High School debate championship.
