All is set for ten formidable cricket teams to battle for glory, bragging rights, and attractive prizes in the fourth edition of the Kumasi Premier League (KPL), scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Hill Top School Astro Turf.

Modified Tennis Ball Cricket Returns

This 5-over modified Tennis Ball Cricket tournament, reserved exclusively for Indian players, promises to shake the very foundations of cricket in Kumasi. Expect explosive batting, crafty bowling, acrobatic catches, and high-octane energy all day long.

Qualifier Round: High Stakes, Fast Pace

The tournament kicks off with five intense qualifiers:

  • Indian Strikers vs. Patel’s
  • Accra Titans vs. Tamil Pasanga
  • AFG Tigers vs. Knight Riders
  • Bharat Warriors vs. Punjab Panthers
  • Mosam Masters vs. Jai Ambe

The five winning teams will book automatic places in the quarterfinals. Of the five losing sides, one will join based on Net Run Rate (NRR), while the remaining four will battle in playoff rounds for the last two quarterfinal slots.

Knockout Format to Bring the Heat

The action-packed schedule features 14 matches: qualifiers, playoff games, quarterfinals, semifinals, a third-place match, and the grand finale. Every game is expected to be thrilling and nerve-wracking, with teams pushing their limits for the KPL crown.

KPL Rules & Modifications

Some of the standout rules for this year’s KPL include:

  • Teams can register a maximum of 10 players.
  • In each match, only one player can bowl two overs.
  • Mankad dismissals are allowed, but LBWs are not part of the format.

Defending champions, Accra Titans, are fired up to retain their title, but with fierce competition expected from all sides, the trophy is up for grabs.
