Week four (4) of the ongoing Sapholda Hockey League was nothing but great stick display and resilience, as well as wonderful saves and blocks at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

With the ladies playing their match day 2, Police run riot and unleashed their ammunition on Reformers. Police broke the dead lock with 3 minutes before the first quarter from Christiana Lawer, while the Prisoners tried to come out of their cells. Fighting back strongly but with little chances, the second quarter went barren.

Two (2) more goals were added from the stick of Mather Sarfoa in the space of 2 minutes in the third quarter, as the energy and synergy of Reformers was sapped. 3-0 it ended for Police who have gone 2 wins out of 2 matches.

Army needed just a goal to pick all points against LegonKnights in the second game. A penalty Corner utilized later in the first quarter by Eleanor Otoo was all that separated the two teams, as LegonKnights exhibited great defense, hindering Army from scoring more goals.

LegonKnights nearly equalized but for the brilliant save of Juliana Agyeiwaa, who stopped a counter, before a penalty corner. While Captain Adwoa Amoah was all over from defense to attack, Rebecca Donkor pushed for goals but only came close.

The final Ladies match also saw Extinguishers wash away the several chances of GRA, who were given a tough game in their 2-1 victory.

After a barren first quarter, Vivian Narkuor strike for GRA 4 minutes into the second quarter. 6 minutes into the third quarter, Vivian got her brace and a cushion for GRA, while Extinguishers look for more water to quench GRA’s fire.

Saves from Extinguishers goalkeeper Precious Osei made it tough for GRA to increase their tax for Extinguishers. The stadium erupted, when Racheal Bamfo pulled one back for Extinguishers.

Before all these great Ladies matches, Tema Manhean lost 0-1 to Eistein in the Men B league, while the 2 other matches have been postponed due to a Hockey Schools Festival.

The Men will bounce back come Saturday, May 31, 2025.
