Medeama part ways with trio

Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC have mutually parted ways with three senior players ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 season.

The players include midfielder Eric Kwakwa, defender Bright Enchil and striker Abass Mohammed who rejoined the club from Asante Kotoko.

The trio leaves the Club following their poor performances in the 2020/21 season.

Medeama’s quest to finish in the top four of the Ghanaian top-flight did not see light as they secured fifth position at the close of the campaign. They were also eliminated from the FA Cup at the semi-final stage by eventual winners, Hearts Of Oak .

“We have mutually parted ways with midfielder Eric Kwakwa, defender Bright Enchill and striker Abass Mohammed,” a club statement read.

“We thank them for their services to our club. The club will be making further announcements in due course,” the statement added.

Medeama have secured the services of a new coach – Ignatius Osei-Fosu, who replaces Yaw Preko and Yaw Acheampong.

They have also completed the signing of two players – striker Ansu Kofi Patrick and defender Seth Sowah from Berekum Arsenal and Bechem United respectively.
