After officiating his 30th Ghana premier league game at the Sogakope WAFA park involving Accra Great Olympics and Aduana Stars, Ho based class one referee, has been handed the Round of 64 tie between Kpando Heart of Lions and Adidome Unity Stars.
The volta regional derby, originally scheduled for Christmas day, December 25, 2022 and was shifted forward to Thursday, December 22, becomes Rustum’s 7th Fa Cup match since he became a premier league referee in 2019.
The Broadcaster’s first MTN FA Cup match was a round 64 match between Heart of Lions and WAFA at the Kpando Stadium on Feb 23, 2020, where WAFA won 2-1.
Division One table leaders, Kpando Heart of Lions progressed to the round of 64 stage after 1-0 win over Port City on Wednesday, November 9, while division 2 side, Adidome Unity Stars knocked out Akatsi Kickers Fc 2-1 in the prelims on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Rustum will be assisted by Stephen Balanguena and Courage Kuedufia, with Selorm Yao Bless as fourth official.
Rustum, officiating his first Fa Cup match this season, has officiated 1 preliminary stage match, 3 Round 64 matches, 1 Round 32 match and 1 semi final.
The 37-year-old, who is chasing the dream of becoming a FIFA referee is expected to once again exhibit greatness and fairness to both sides.
