A mysterious goal scored by Evans Osei Wusu in the 27’ was all that gave Tema Youth the 3 points over Krystal Palace in their match Day 28 encounter.
Assistant 2, Bless Klu flagged and run back to centre, signaling to center referee Franklin Akumatey who whistled for a goal after a long short which was saved by goalkeeper Mubarak Zakari was adjudged to be a goal.
Surprisingly, Referee Bless Klu was no where near the line to detect if the ball had crossed the goal line entirely before flagging.
Tempers rose thereafter, but the pride of Akwamu lads kept their momentum and played all out. They however missed few goal scoring opportunities earlier, which could have seen them ahead.
Unfortunately, David Anderson was red carded after his complain of a foul against him when he won a ball in the 90’.
Coach Otis speaks about the goal but believes the team will bounce back to winning ways.
“You know it’s really difficult, the goal that was allowed against us, from where I was sitting, I didn’t see it a goal, although I wasn’t close to it, because the assistant who alerted the referee that it is a goal couldn’t get to the spot or was far from the goal line, but was able to signal the referee that it is a goal and the referee also took it. My players did well, just that they couldn’t score. I would have been happy if we drew, but we take it like that. We go back home and make sure we win our next game.”
Krystal Palace remain 15th with 27 points, 2 more from Nania Fc who also lost away to Kotoku Royals.
Krystal next faces Golden Kick at home on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
