The Preliminary Stage of the 2021 edition begins on October 26 in the Greater Accra Region.

146 Senior High Schools nationwide will converge to slug it out for the trophy and the bragging right as champions of science and mathematics education in Ghana. The National Championship which usually takes place in June had to be delayed due to changes in the academic calendar of Senior High Schools, owing to the impact of COVID-19.

The official launch will take place on October 19; a week later, 119 schools will contest at the Preliminary Stage, which will be organised on a Regional and Zonal basis. The organisers, Primetime Limited, took this initiative, aimed at reducing the number of schools that will finally converge in camp for the subsequent stages of the national championship.
