The story of Nsromma Cricket Academy is one that many must know as they have natured many cricket talents in Ghana.
Established in July 2012, the Academy can boost of nurturing talents who have served the national teams at all levels.
In climaxing their 10th Anniversary, Nsromma Cricket Academy has put together a Cricket Tournament that will see 4 regions converge at the Achimota Schools Cricket Oval from Friday, December 16, through to Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
With the theme ’10 years of discovering and producing the backbone of Ghana Cricket’, there will be training for all participating clubs for Saturday and Sunday, before the matches begin on Monday and end on Tuesday.
The tournament will have four championships for four regions, with four dreams, accompanied with four speakers in a T15 format matches for both boys and Girls U-19 and U-15 respectively.
For the girls U-19, Saka Homes Ladies, Dom-Kuk Cricket, Akwamuman Cricket and Awisa Cricket will battle in the Esi Mensimah Memorial Championship while Ninani Hope, Good Spirit and Ho Cricket will play in the Comfort Asamoah Memorial U-15 boys Championship.
In the boys U-19, Ho Cricket, Dom Kuk, Akwamuman and Awisa Cricket Select XI are paired in the Ras Binghy Memorial Championship, while Taysec Titans, Sbinc Lions, Nsoroma GPS leopards and AD&TS College Cricket XI will engage each other for the top spot in the Vanderpuye-Orgle Memorial Championship.
Winner of the Vanderpuye-Orgle will play winner of the Ras Binghy in the Professor William Ampofo Cup. Other finals include the Eugene King Cup, which will see Winner and runner up of Comfort Asamoah Championship lock horns and for the women, Winner and runner up of the Esi Mensimah championship battle for supremacy in the Patricia C. Kambarani Cup.
Founding Director, SNEB Asamoah is optimistic of a successful tournament.
“We have come far as an Academy and our contribution cannot be written off. It is just right, that we honor this Anniversary with a tournament as such and we expect a good competition. There will be winners and losers but at the end of the day, development of cricket is the aim. We are hopeful however for a successful tournament.”
The Academy is bearing the cost of transportation for all participating teams, their feeding as well as Accommodation.
