The Police have arrested four persons namely, Majid Issah, Fodi Issiage Kamara, Yakubu Simalia and Alhaji Bashiru Mohamed, in connection with the shooting incident at Nyankpala in the Northern Region.
The Police confirmed that the incident led to the death of one person and the injury of another.
The injured victim is currently receiving medical care, while the body of the deceased is taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy,a statement issued by the Police said.
“The suspects are currently in custody and assisting the Police investigation,” it added.
Ealier, the Police also announced the arrest of an Electoral Commission (EC) official at Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region, for electoral offences during the ongoing general elections.
According to the Police, the suspect, Dery Joseph, is under investigation for issuing about 15 ballot papers to voters that omitted the first presidential candidate at the Ampesika- Bayere polling station.
