Hardworking Peter Abaje, Chairman for NDC’s Asante Akyem North Constituency remains a strong contender for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position in the area.
In an interview with this portal, Peter Abaje who sounded positive about his chances stated that if President John Mahama eventually confer the MCE position on him, he will continue to join forces with the ruling party to reset Asante Akyem North and Ghana in general.
“I have paid my dues to NDC and the people of Asante Akyem North as chairman. I believe this is the time to take up a new mantle as the MCE and continue to serve for the betterment of my people and party” he noted.
Peter Abaje has served as an Assemblyman in Agogo for over a decade. He has contributed immensely to the success of NDC not only in Asante Akyem North but also at the national level.
There is no way the history of NDC’s recent massive victory on January 7, 2024 national elections can be told without his exploits.
Apart from his unrelenting campaign in all communities in Asante Akyem North, he was also effective at the national level and put his strong shoulders to the wheels for victory.
He is contesting for the MCE position together with another three party members.
His major challenger is Chief Kofi Asamoah who vied for the Member of Parliament seat in the ticket of NDC just recently.
The two other contestants are Agyei Joshua – Director of Elections for Asante Akyem North NDC and Sarah Amoakoa – an Executive Member.
They have successfully undergone vetting in Ashanti Region and Peter Abaje is ready to ascend onto the throne that was occupied by Honourable Oti Boateng under NPP.
