Pitch Experts pick first 2 points in Ho Asogli U-12 T10 Cricket Bash to end first round

It was nail biting and intriguing as Pitch Experts grabbed their first win in the ongoing Asogli Yam Festival U-12 Boys T10 Bash, as they went past Bat Heroes on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the OLA SHS Park.

The second match of the week 3 of the Series in Ho saw Bat Heroes winning toss and scoring 64 runs for 1 wicket in the first innings.

It was time to bring their experts to bear and they did just that in 10 overs, as the Heroes kept taking the wickets but could not restrict Pitch Experts, losing by 4 wickets, with the latter scoring 66 runs for 6 wickets.

Although Pitch Experts won, Bat Heroes Chassey Muaz was adjudged Player of the Match with his 19 runs off 22 balls, not out. Fawas Badmus’ bowling performance can not be overlooked in their painful defeat to the Experts. Muaz took 2 wickets, gave away 11 runs in 1 over.

Despite their triumph, Pitch Experts remain bottom, with an improved NRR (-0.16) but with 2 points, same as Bat Heroes who moved to 2nd with an NRR of 0.00.

Young Stumpers earlier on Saturday, stretched their lead on the table after posting 10 wickets win over Super Rangers. The Rangers score of 53 runs for 3 wickets was outscored by the Stumpers; 54 runs for the loss of no wicket in 8.3 overs.

Naziru Ibrahim who scored 12 runs, off 11 balls not out and Sena Courage, who scored 8 runs off 17 balls, not out, did the magic with extras for Young Stumpers to maintain a 100% winning record, with 6 points and +0.13 NRR.  

Super Rangers, with the loss dropped to 3rd with -0.03 NRR and 2 points.

The Stumper’s Abubakar Sadick took 2 wickets, gave away 12 runs in 2 overs and was named the Player of the Match.

The Ho Yam Festival Bash continues on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the same venue with round 2 fixtures.

Victor Tetteh, Coach and Organiser of the Series remains optimistic, that they will end with same energy they begun with, as the GCA continues to monitor the young talents out there.
