Pitch Experts stun leaders Young Stumpers in week 4 of Asogli U-12 Cricket Bash

Week Four (4) of the ongoing Asogli U-12 boys T10 Cricket Bash came off over the weekend with the return fixtures of the double round robin format.

Bottom side Modern Pitch Experts, rose to the occasion and defeated table leaders Young Stumpers by 7 wickets in the match 7 of the Series played on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the OLA SHS Park in Ho.

Young Stumpers, who beat the Experts in their first meeting by just 2 runs were given a taste of their own medicine today, as they scored 68 runs for 1 wicket in the first innings, with Abass Shorie scoring 22 runs off 28 balls.

Pitch Experts maintained their momentum, although losing early wickets, and scored 69 runs for 7 wickets in 7.4 overs.

Pitch Experts have moved 2 places up, from bottom to the 2nd spot, with 4 points and -0.01 NRR, closing the gap on leaders, Young Stumpers, who still have 6 points and +0.03 NRR.

Bat Heroes drop to 3rd with same points and NRR as Pitch Experts, after their 5 runs victory against Vibrant Super Rangers in Match 8, while the latter also from from 3rd to 4th with 2 points and -0.05 NRR.

Vibrant Super Rangers were not vibrant enough, as they could not surpass the 63 runs for 5 wickets score posted by Green Bat Heroes in the first innings. Having won toss, Super Rangers were limited to 58 runs for 5 wickets.

It was another revenge of the day for Bat Heroes, as they lost the reverse fixture against Super Rangers.

The match however produced 2 wonderful bowling figures; Hope Xebua of Super Rangers, who took 3 wickets, gave away 8 runs in 2 overs and Junior, the eventual Player of the Match, who took 3 wickets, gave away 7 runs in 2 overs.

Green Bat Heroes will welcome Young Stumpers in match 9 for Week 5, while Vibrant Super Rangers come face to face with Modern Pitch Experts in match 10, in the penultimate matches at the OLA SHS Park on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

The Orgainsers (Volta Cricket Association) are calling on corporate bodies to come on board as sponsors, as they continue on the identification of these talents in Ho.
