For immediate release:
Yesterday on the floor of parliament, the Health Minister Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu heeded to the thousands of people in the Offinso North District, in the call to have a facility just like that of Saint Patrick’s Hospital and the Holy Family Hospital at Offinso South municipality and the Bono East regional capital respectively, to be located at Akumadan in the Offinso North District, which serves as the median of these two cities mentioned above.
This was done through our humble and workaholic Member of Parliament, Hon.Augustine Collins Ntim, who doubles as the The Deputy Minister for Local Government Decentralisation and Rural Development.
Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, caught the eye of the Deputy Speaker Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu, then made a very cogent presentation of the need for such a facility to be located at the central point of Kumasi-Techiman high way, a main road and a gateway to the Bono East and the Northern Regions and our neighboring countries, Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast.
The facility which will not only serve the health needs of the good people of Offinso North and it’s environs, to the levels that our brothers and sisters in the Offinso South Municipality do receive at their Magnificent Saint Patrick’s Hospital, will also help to address the emergency needs of travelers and tourists along that stretch who might need such a facility at point in time.
We are by this presser, congratulating our workaholic Member of Parliament, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim for such a yeomans job. For demonstrating his extraordinary lobbying skills and confirming once again that he is a matured politician. In fact, Offinso North District is proud to have you for our representation.
We also thank the Parliament of Ghana, lead by Rt.Hon. Kingsford Alban Sumana Bagbin and His Deputies, the Majority and Minority leaders, the Hon.Kwaku Agyeman Manu, our indefatigable Health Minister, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia, for heeding to the call of the good people of Offinso North District.
And for recognizing the need for such a facility to be located at the right place to foster health care delivery in Ghana.
We appreciate the wisdom you have put into taking this decision.
We are hopeful that such and many more projects will be brought to our doorsteps to ease the many challenges we have as a newly created district. Thank you all for your attention and may God bless Ghana.
