Prosper Narteh-Ogum’s switch to Asante Kotoko is a done deal

WAFA head trainer, Prosper Narteh-Ogum is set to be named as the new coach of Ghanaian powerhouse, Asante Kotoko, according to Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio.

The Porcupine Warriors, according to the Manhyia-owned station, have reached an agreement with the gaffer and it’s left with the confirmation in public ahead of the upcoming 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko, under the tutelage of Mariano Barreto ended the 2020/21 season in second position, four points behind the winner’s Hearts Of Oak – who finished with 53 points.

They also failed to defend the FA Cup after they were booted out on penalties by Berekum Chelsea.

Aimed at bouncing back stronger next season, they have moved swiftly to appoint Narteh Ogum, who led WAFA to a historic third-place finish last season.

According to the report, the unveiling of the Prosper Narteh-Ogum will be delayed as the management would have to take steps to settle the contractual agreement with Mariano Barreto.

The report further stated that the club will only pay the Portuguese trainer two months salary when they terminate the contract.

Truenewsghana.com understand that coach Prosper Narteh-Ogum has also informed Kotoko management to bring on board his assistant trainer at WAFA, Ibrahim Sadiq.
