Maharashtra Mandal Ghana (MMG) Cricket Club saw their first league victory clearly within reach—until Rana Motors staged a dramatic second-innings comeback to force a draw in the ongoing Ghana Cricket Association Division One League, played on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Achimota Cricket Oval.

MMG, who lost the toss, were bowled out in 19.3 overs before Rana Motors responded with 115 runs in their innings on Oval A. MMG started brilliantly, taking three early wickets and unsettling the Rana Motors batting order by the end of the powerplay.

But Player of the Match Dinesh Butola (4.0-0-11-3) led the resistance, combining with Pradeep Tandale, who took the final two wickets, to stabilize Rana Motors. Subhasis Ray contributed a valuable 38(24) to push them to 115.
In the chase, MMG openers Dinesh Butola 44(42) and Vasant Shinde 24(13) gave a strong foundation, hitting boundaries off Shajahan Razak in the opening over. MMG reached 47/1 after the powerplay and looked in control at 81/2 by the 10th over.

But the momentum shifted dramatically after Butola fell LBW to Hari Prasad Mohanty in the 11.4 over. The collapse began, and with only 11 runs needed from 30 balls and 4 wickets in hand, MMG lost three wickets in the 18th over, thanks to the exceptional bowling of Richmond Baaleri Jamal.

MMG needed just two runs to seal victory going into the 19th over, but captain Shijo Devasia conceded six runs in just four balls, including two wides. A miscommunication led to a run out—Manish Rathod, dismissed by Alex Osei—ending MMG’s innings at 115/10 in 18.3 overs, sealing a dramatic draw.

MMG are 7th with 2 points, while Rana Motors stay 2nd with 7 points after five matches each.
