Supreme Cricket Club showcased a remarkable performance against Bangla Tigers in Week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Cricket T20 Qualifier A League on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
After a heartbreaking last-ball defeat to Defenders in Week 9, Supreme bounced back with a commanding 100-run victory, fueled by a century from captain Obed Harvey.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Supreme Cricket Club posted a league-high total of 209/4. Captain Obed Harvey led from the front with a stunning 113* runs off 58 balls, lasting 110 minutes at the crease.
His partnership with Eyram Kekeli Afutu yielded 108 runs before Eyram was dismissed in the 12.4 over by Abdul Ahad Dewan.
Obed reached his half-century with a boundary four on the 11.3 over and crossed the century mark in the 19th over, smashing three consecutive sixes to finish with 102* off 54 balls.
He now ranks third on the batting chart with 138 runs from four innings, trailing Mark Bawa by five runs and Richmond Baaleri by 91 runs. To top it off, Obed Harvey earned his first Player of the Match award, adding bowling figures of 2.2-0-9-2 to his stellar batting performance.
Supreme’s total of 209/4 stands as the highest score so far across both Qualifier A and B. Other top scores in the league include Rana Motors’ 175-run tally against Defenders in Week 5, Evolve Paint’s 187 runs against Supreme in Week 7, and GT CC’s 194 runs when they defeated Swami Indians in Week 4.
Later in the day, Carel Super Kings (CSK) secured a dominant 7-wicket victory over Saltpond-based Ras Binghi. Ras Binghi won the toss for the first time in six matches and chose to bat.
However, CSK’s captain, Selvaraj Chokalingam, delivered a Player of the Match performance, dismantling Ras Binghi’s batting lineup with figures of 5 wickets for 9 runs, including a maiden over.
Remarkably, Selvaraj claimed three wickets in that maiden over, dismissing Charles Pobee (9.3 over), Harauna Addison (9.5 over), and Richard Owusu (9.6 over). Vincent Ateak also impressed with figures of 4.0-0-25-3.
Ras Binghi was bowled out for 64 runs in 14.5 overs. In response, CSK chased down the target in just 44 minutes, scoring 66 runs for the loss of three wickets in 8.4 overs.
With two matches remaining for both Supreme and Carel Super Kings, the Qualifier A standings remain tight:
