Mr. Fareed Adu Gyamfi, a teacher at Derma Community Senior High School(SHS) in the Tano South District, has been shot dead by armed robbers after a robbery attack on a Mobile Money (MoMo) Vendor.
The report also indicates that one person is in critical condition after the unfortunate incident which has put residents into a state of mourning.

Account of the shooting incident by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Collins Offinam Takyi after consultations with the shop owner and other eyewitnesses:
I met the police headed by the Techimantia Commander.
Together with Hon MP who was in town by the time of the incident, we visited the crime scene, spoke to the shop owner and other eyewitnesses.
According to the shop owner, the estimated amount which were taken away were about GHc 25,000.00.
The deceased victim had gone to the shop to buy credit for his phone. His back was facing the attacker who shot through the shop’s showcase which was glass and hit the victim from the back.
According to the shop owner, only one attacker entered the shop and whilst the three of them (attacker, the shop owner, and the victim) were at the shop, the other attacker was firing gunshots in the street in front of the shop.
According to the information we picked, the victim who was shot was the deceased. We haven’t had any information of another person been shot, wounded or in any critical situation at any health centre.
According to the shop owner, they the attacker who entered the shop took his money box and his back bag which contained the money.
Derma is calm and the regional police command has been briefed.
No arrests have been made yet.
The incident happened on Friday, August 20, 2021, around 7:30 – 8:00 pm.
According to report, the vendor has disclosed that the armed robbers took away a whopping amount of GHS 200,000.
