The Ghana National Baseball League entered Week 5 at the Koshien Baseball Field in Labone on Saturday, October 18, 2025, producing another exciting round of action as Tema Tigers and LD Dodgers secured commanding victories.

Tigers vs Hawks – Tema Tigers Stay Unbeaten
League leaders Tema Tigers were given an early scare in their second meeting with the youthful Shai Osudoku Hawks, who stunned the Tigers with a 4–1 lead after the first innings.
The game opened with Abdul Hakim-Abdul Karim scoring the Tigers’ only run in the first inning, but the Hawks’ strong pitching — led by Maxwell Owusu — and sharp play from Kwaku Alaglo, Joshua Nyamedi, Rans Appiah, and captain Favor Afenuvor kept the Tigers in check.

However, the Hawks’ momentum soon faded as pitcher Henry Nikio delivered outstanding throws to restrict them to just one additional run in the second inning, making it 5–1.
Once the Hawks were contained, the Tigers unleashed their claws. They stormed back with 2, 4, and 1 runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings respectively, sealing an impressive 8–5 comeback victory.

A home run by Samuel Baah in the top of the 3rd inning completely shifted the tide, deflating the Hawks’ spirit. Key contributions from Kemuel Delali Ofori, Fosu Kwame Duah, and Solomon Addison ensured the Tigers maintained control till the end.
The win keeps Tema Tigers unbeaten in five matches, sitting atop the league table with 15 points and 43 total runs, while Shai Osudoku Hawks remain third with 3 points after four matches.

LD Dodgers vs Tema Giant Hitters – Dodgers Run Riot
Earlier in the day, LD Dodgers continued their dominant run with a massive 23–0 win over Tema Giant Hitters.
The La-based side completely overpowered their opponents, piling up 10, 5, and 8 runs in the first three innings before the game was ended by the mercy rule in the fourth inning.

Standout performances from Jerry Dovlo, Joseph Ofori, Yemo Ofoli, Lawrence Baffour, Francis Okoe, Alex Koranteng, and Bernard Kumson fueled the Dodgers’ offensive explosion.
On the mound, Godwin Tetteh was outstanding, allowing few base runs and consistently striking out the Hitters’ batters. Despite efforts from Abbas, Boakye, and Richard, the Tema Giant Hitters were unable to register a single run.

The result keeps LD Dodgers in second place with 9 points, while the Tema Giant Hitters remain bottom of the table with no points and a deficit of 71 runs after five straight losses.
