Young Stumpers and Pitch Experts maintain victory in Asogli U-12 Boys Cricket Bash

The penultimate matches of the Ho Asogli U-12 Boys T10 Cricket Bash saw leaders Young Stumpers and Pitch Experts maintaining their spots on the table after victories against Bat Heroes and Super Rangers in week 5

Young Stumpers clinched a double win over Bat Heroes and kept 2 points clear at the top with 8 points with 0.05 NRR. The Stumpers conceded 65 runs for 4 wickets in the first innings after winning the toss and scored 68 runs for 2 wickets in 9.3 overs to win the game by 8 wickets.

A Young Stumper, John Adzah gave a Player of the match performance, taking 2 wickets, giving away just 2 runs in an over. Abass Sherif also took 2 wickets, gave away 12 runs in 2 overs.

Modern Pitch Experts in Match 10 later on Saturday, October 12 kept their composure and took revenge on Super Rangers with a 9 runs win, to maintain their 2^nd spot with 6 points and 0.02 NRR.

Winning toss, Pitch Experts, who lost their first two matches in the double round robin T10 bash, became the only team to have scored past 70 runs, recording 77 runs for 2 wickets in the first innings after winning toss.

Super Rangers tried to chase the 78 runs target but could only manage 68 runs for 3 wickets.

Expert Daniel Kumah was the hero of the day, taking 2 wickets and giving away 5 runs in 1 over, as Pitch Experts achieve a positive Net Run Rate for the first time in 5 matches.

Bat Heroes are still 3^rd with 4 points, while Super Rangers languish at the bottom with 2 points.

With the T10 bash wrapping up next week, Young Stumpers and Pitch Experts are in contention to be crowned champions of the U-12 Boys competition at the OLA SHS Park.

Super Rangers will try to grab their 2^nd win as they face table leaders Young Stumpers in match 11 for the 6^th week, whereas Bat Heroes also push to equal on points with Pitch Experts in match 12 to wrap it all up.

It is all to play for in this intriguing talent identification competition in Ho, organised by the Volta Region Cricket Association and support from the Ghana Cricket Association.
