Week 6 of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) Division Two League delivered double delight for Champions United and Hurricanes Cricket Club, who both recorded their first victories of the campaign on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Achimota Cricket Oval B.

In the early fixture, Champions United bounced back from two consecutive losses (to Defenders and Bangla Tigers) with a dominant performance over Swami Sports Club.
After a modest batting display, Champions United managed 112/6 in their first innings before unleashing a bowling storm led by Sethu Rajeev, Swaleheen, and Malang, who completely shut down Swami Sports’ chase.

Swami collapsed to 15 all out in 8.6 overs, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to find any batting rhythm.
Champions United sealed a commanding 97-run victory, with Sethu Rajeev claiming the Player of the Match award for his outstanding bowling figures of 2.0-1-2-4.

Champions United now sit 3rd on the league table with 2 points, four behind leaders Devnik United and two behind Defenders CC.

Captain Asad Iqbal praised his team’s performance after the match:

“Today, our game went exactly as planned. Our batters did well even though we lost a few wickets. The bowling was spectacular, and I hope we maintain this winning mentality moving forward.”

In reply, Hurricanes chased down the target with 116/3 in 17.4 overs, thanks to Harish Thakur (30 off 35) and an unbeaten *Lokendra Pratap Singh (54 off 43)**. Vipendra also impressed with the ball, producing figures of 4.0-0-16-4, earning him the Player of the Match accolade.
