The smart ladies of Dompoase-Kokwaado (D.K.) Cricket Club bounced back to winning ways, clinching their 3rd victory in the ongoing GCA Senior Women’s T20 League in the Central Region to sit top of the table with 6 points, having beaten both Hinii Marines and Sea Ravens by Runs at the Saltpond COS Park on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Beginning the day, D.K. cruised to a 22-run win over Hinii Marine after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Sensational Deborah Mensah 30(36) opened with Saviour Kyereboah 11(20) and had a good partnership while Hinii got their first wicket after the power play.
With several misfields earlier in the first innings, which caused Hinii, they bounced back, taking 3 wickets by the 10.1 over, as Deborah was caught out by Nancy Sagoe from captain Grace Essoun’s delivery.

By the 15th over, when Juliet Mensah had lost her wicket via a run out by Elizabeth Takyi, D.K. were 137/8and further pushed to wrap up the innings, scoring 157/10 in 18 overs, while Leticia Kakraba took 3.0-0-24-3.
Hinii had hopes of chasing the target and keeping their wickets in the second innings, but finished the 20 overs, losing 5 wickets and managing 135 runs. In a rather careful innings, Hinii lost their first wicket on the 2nd over, while the eventual player of the match, Deborah Mensah, bowled out Grace Quaicoo.

Captain Grace Essoun was given a golden duck by Gladys Quansah on the 2.1 over, with another beautiful bowling. By the 3rd over, Hinii had lost their 3rd wicket via another duck; a run out by Deborah Mensah on Elizabeth Takyi who did not even face a ball.
Hinii, while keeping their wickets, gradually picked up some singles, while Hannah Assan, who opened with Grace scored 16 runs, off 21 balls not out, and Leticia Kakraba, who came in as the 6th batter, scored 20 runs, off 54 balls, not out.
Deborah took 4.0-0-8-2, while Gladys took 4.0-0-23-2, and the ladies from the KEEA district jubilated on their 2nd victory in the league.

D.K. had hopes of batting first and winning, but they had a great test from the Sea Ravens, whom they had lost to in week 2. The 32-run revenge game started badly for D.K. Cricket Club, as they lost opener, Deborah Mensah on the 1.2 over. A bad call for a single from partner Saviour caused the team, as Elizabeth Armah made no mistakes in running out Deborah.
It was a bad score for D.K. in the power play, as they lost 3 more wickets, Erica Mensah, Gladys Quansah, and captain Margaret Mensah, even before the 3rd over. Juliet Mensah 19(24) and Janet Amaning 14(14), however, strengthened the middle order for D.K. and, before their exit, had pushed the team’s score to 89/7 in 12 overs.

D.K., who rode on the extras from Saltpond Sea Ravens later in the game, scored 125/10 in 17.1 overs, whereas Matilda Fynn topped the bowling figures chat, taking 4.0-0-27-4.
While a footballer turned Cricketer, Patience Odoom gave hopes to the Sea Ravens, scoring 24(37) in the middle order. D.K. had other plans, setting up the field for her exit, after scoring four boundary 4’s. It was a plot by the Mensahs, as she was caught beautifully by Captain Margaret Mensah on the 16.3 over, from the delivery of Erica Mensah. Odoom, who is a goalkeeper in football, had also beautifully caught Erica Mensah and Juliet Mensah in the first innings.

Erica Afenyi Mensah got a brace on Jessica Aikins and Yvonne Nyamekye, distorting the batting order of the Sea Ravens, after captain Mary Ndzibah was bowled out by Deborah Mensah (4.0-0-23-2) on the 1.1 over.
Erica picked the player of the match accolade, as she took a total of 4 wickets, giving away 17 runs in 4 overs (4.0-0-17-4), while Saltpond Sea Ravens managed 93/10 in 17.2 overs.
The double victory means D.K. Cricket Club is top of the table with 6 points, while Saltpond Sea Ravens lie 2nd with 4 points. Hinii Marines are 3rd with 2 points, after 4 matches.
D.K., with their position, has qualified for the finals, slated for January 17, 2026, as they await the winner between Saltpond Sea Ravens and Hinii Marines in an earlier game.
