Accra Titans have secured their 3rd modified Cricket tournament trophy with consistent performances in the Accra Champions League, Republic Day tournament, presented by Mayur Travels.
The two-week intense and well-organized championship saw Accra Titans beat DPS Plastic Tamil Pasanga by 9 wickets on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to lift the giant Trophy at the Accra Academy Astro Turf.

The 4 groups of 4 teams’ tourney had Defenders 11 and Accra Titans book a quarter final berth from Group A with 6 and 4 points respectively, while Spartans and Royal Stars Legends bow out after 2 and 0 points respectively.
In Group B, Devnik United and DPS Plastic Tamil Pasanga moved on with 4 points each, ahead of 3rd & 4th place Kaneshie Knight Riders and Euro Stars, who managed 2 points each.
Group C saw Champions United exhibit champion behavior, securing the 1st spot with 5 points, along with Gujarat Tridents with 4 points, while The Game Changers and the Legends, with 3 & 0 points respectively, were sadly bidding bye-bye.

Champions United played out an interesting draw game with The Game Changers after a 64/4 and 64/4 result.
Royal Stars Tema made it 3 out of 3 to top Group D with 6 points, qualifying alongside Salt n Pepper, who garnered 4 points, while Lele Challengers and Royal Palace Challengers bowed out with 2 and 0 points.
In the last 8, DPS was ruthless in their 46-run victory against Defenders 11, as Raman Madhu stood out, scoring 46(14) after they scored the tournament’s highest, 88/3, and Defenders managed 42/1.

Accra Titans needed 3 overs to outscore Devnik United’s 39/8 in 4.5 overs, achieving 42/1 and winning by 9 wickets in the second quarter final.
Salt n Pepper we’re on could 9. They scored 60/2 and limited Champions United to 36/5, winning by 24 runs to progress.
Royal Stars Tema booked a Semifinal berth with DPS, after eliminating Gujarat Tridents by just 4 runs in a dramatic fashion. Royal Stars scored 58/4 and needed some brilliant bowling to keep Gujarat Tridents at 54/3, with Rohit Malik missing some vital shots.

SEMIS
DPS pushed Royal Stars Tema away so easily with great limitations in the first innings, as the latter scored 17/6. The defeat was so telling on the faces of the players of Royal Stars Tema, as DPS used 2.4 overs to achieve the 18-run target to win by 10 wickets.

Earlier, Accra Titans needed to carry Kapil Butola high, as his final 6 boundary runs secured the finals for them in their 4-wicket victory against Salt n Pepper.
Salt n Pepper tightened the second innings, after posting 49/4 in the first innings. The Titans needed some miracle hands, as the required runs to win hung in the air till the six runs to score 51/6.

FINAL
DPS were in charge of the final game but let it go in the 5th over after they scored 37/4, while stress was telling on them.

Accra Titans, who thought the target was an easy does it, had to battle Madhu, Merbin, Mahi, Tarun, and finally John.
Captain Kapil Butola stood tall again as the Titans killed the game on the 4.5 over, scoring 38 runs and sacrificing only Halim Niyaz Khan, to win by 9 wickets.
AWARDS
It was all joy as Kapil was named the Player of the final match and received a beautiful plaque.

With all players of the matches receiving goodies from other sponsors, GT, Kepas, Park n Shop, Eskay, Devnik Ghana Ltd, and Kaneshie Knight Riders.
With several boundaries, Raman Madhu was adjudged the best batter, with 148 runs from 6 innings, whereas Tarun Goud added to DPS individual accolades, grabbing the best bowler prize with 7 wicket hauls and a better economy rate (6.17), slightly ahead of Accra Titan’s Sanjay’s 7.0.

Halim Niyaz Khan was the best fielder with 3 catches and 7 dismissals, while Kapil Butola beat Raman Madhu to the Most Valuable Player accolade with 22.27 points.
Accra Titans, aside from the giant Trophy received 10,000.00 while the 1st runner up, DPS, got 7,000.00. Salt n Pepper were the 2nd runner up, having been adjudged the best loser, and they walked home with a trophy and cash prize of 4,000.00.

The well-organized tournament had 31 matches and 2719 runs. There were two 50-run innings, and 207 sixes, led by Raman Madhu with 16 boundary 6.
This could be regarded as one of the best 5-over modified Cricket tournaments ever, as there is more to come from the Organisers.
