The Senior National Men’s Cricket Team, named Isaac XI, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, secured a 7-wicket victory over the Indian XI at the Achimota Cricket Oval C.

Scoring first after winning the toss, Paul Anthony and Mukesh Mohan could not stand the bowling attack of the national team, captained by Isaac Kwaku Otuafo Aboagye.

Prince Adotei got 2 wickets (3.0-0-11-2) in his 3 spells with Vincent Ateak, and before the power play ended, had dismissed 3, while the Indian Xi stood at 23 runs.

Kapil Butola and Sanjay Kumar tried to lift things, but also fell from the deliveries of Carlson Stanley and Kofi Bagabena. A slow batting order, which saw the likes of Ayushman, Harish, Sajesh, Sajeev, Shijo, and Denish, only produced 83/10 in 19 overs.

Carlson and Michael Aboagye took 2 wickets each in the limitation of the Expats.

In 36 minutes, Isaac XI had scored 85 runs, with the sacrifice of 3 wickets in 8 overs. Alex Osei had an early shower when he was caught by Shijo Devasia from Kapil Butola’s delivery. The Opening partnership was gone when Judah Solomon suffered a painful LBW from the swift attack of Logan.

Richmond Baaleri 15(10) was quick, taking 3 runs in his partnership with Judah and later Michael Aboagye 34*(21) but got caught by Sajeev, a delivery by Ayushman.

David Ateak 13*(9) ended the game on a high note, as the National team gradually intensifies its selection for future tournaments.

The matches against the Expatriates are actually giving the national team a test, a very good exercise that needs to continue by the Ghana Cricket Association.
