Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak Record Biggest Win of the Season Against Eleven Wonders

Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a 3-0 win over Eleven Wonders in match day 20 of the Ghana Premier League at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The Phobians, who were coming from a 0-0 game at home against Dreams FC in their match day 19 encounter at the same venue, took the game to Wonders and found the back of the net in the 7through Mawuli Wayo.

Eleven Wonders fought back to draw level, but their chances created either were handled by Benjamin Asare or blasted away.

Forward and captain Emmanuel Boateng worked so hard in the midfield, connecting great passes to Rauf Munah, but Kelvin Osei Asibey became the rock of Gibraltar at the back for Hearts of Oak.

In the second half, Martin Karikari was gifted the final touch in a tussle in the final third of Eleven Wonders, and he made no mistakes, getting the cushion for Hearts on the 64’.

Kelvin Osei Asibey picked up the ball to make it 3-0 from the spot for the Phobians in the 76’, after Hamza Musah brought down Hamza Issah in the penalty area.

Despite the loss, Head Coach of Eleven Wonders, Emmanuel Aidoo, admits they are not giving up.

“We were tactically broken down, because some of the players did not play according to instructions. We need to regroup and get back. Nothing is over until it is over. We still have matches to play. We are still on the marathon, until it is over, then it is over.”

Head Coach of Hearts, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, was happy that they were able to score.

“I have mixed feelings, because I think there are so many aspects to improve, and the match gives us the opportunity to evaluate what we are doing. It was good to score 3 goals and build on the team”.

“For me, there is nothing like an easy game, just that, we still need to improve on our conversion rate; we need to be more decisive in very key moments of the gam,e” He emphasized.

Abdul Karim was adjudged the Player of the Match.

It was the biggest win for Hearts of Oak this season.
