Week 7 of the Ghana National Baseball League produced high drama and long-awaited revenge, as LD Dodgers stunned league leaders Tema Tigers with a commanding 7–2 victory on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Koshien Baseball Field, Labone.
The Dodgers, who suffered a 10–2 loss to the Tigers in Week 2 (July 12), came into the encounter with one mission — to close the gap at the top. With both teams fielding their strongest lineups, fans anticipated fireworks, and the game delivered exactly that.

Pitcher Henry Nikoi opened strongly for the Tigers, shutting out LD in the top of the first inning, while Samuel Baah registered the first run of the day (1–0).
But the Dodgers quickly switched tactics. They neutralized Nikoi’s rhythm with smart base running and scored three runs in the top of the second inning through Edmund Ackom, Alexandre Agyepong, and a pinch run by Edmund for Kofi Frimpong, taking a 3–1 lead.
Dodgers’ pitcher Frank Opoku responded with an excellent stint on the mound, restricting the Tigers to zero in the bottom of the second inning.

Momentum stayed with LD as Ebenezer Osei Tetteh and Lawrence Kyei Baffour added two more runs, stretching the lead to 5–2, with Samuel Baah again providing the Tigers’ only reply.
The third inning turned into a pitcher’s duel — Nikoi and Opoku both delivered crisp strikes, shutting out their opponents for a 0–0 frame.

In the final inning, LD Dodgers sealed the win in emphatic fashion. Ebenezer Osei Tetteh and Bernard Koomson added two more runs, while the Tigers’ batters struggled to break through, ending the game at 7–2 in favor of LD.
The Dodgers have now announced their intentions loudly, cutting the gap at the top to just three points, with a superior +60 run difference after six matches. Tema Tigers remain leaders with 18 points, +40 run difference after seven matches. Their next clash will likely decide the league title.

Earlier in the day, Tema Giant Hitters forfeited their match against Shai Osudoku Hawks after failing to present the minimum number of players. Despite being present, the Giants were two players short, disappointing Coach Sheriff Mohammed. The Hawks were awarded 3 points and 10 runs.
The league continues on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with Tema Giants Academy facing Tema Tigers at 10:00 am, before the Hawks take on LD Dodgers in search of their third win of the season.
