Lilies and Tulips hand Daisies 3 defeats in week 2 of the Ghana Cricket Association Senior Women’s T20 League in Accra

The Ghana Cricket Association Senior Women’s T20 League saw Accra Daisies suffering from two defeats in their week 2 actions on Saturday, January 3, 2026, against Accra Lilies and Accra Tulips.

The Lilies, who recorded a 6-wicket victory, threw the Daisies into the crease after winning the toss.

Abigail Amuzu 9(7) and Evelyn Adu Frimpong 11(24) began a momentum for the Daisies but got served with a brilliant bowling attack by the Lilies, as they managed 45/2 at the end of the power play.

Daisies captain Joycelyn Mansa Ahama 10(27) came to restore the dignity of her team but could not take them to the promised land, as she fell via an LBW delivered by Joyce Ayitera on the 12.2 over.

The Daisies dropped 4 more wickets but pushed to score 119 runs in 102 minutes.

Led by Captain Jacqueline Kokam 30*(29), the Lilies needed to sacrifice 4 wickets to achieve the 120-run target in 17 overs, to win, while Rachel Gadose, who took 4.0-0-13-2 won the player of the match accolade.

As if the defeat to the Lilies was enough, the Daisies started another campaign in the afternoon and yet again lost the toss to Accra Tulips, who opted to field first.

With great limitation, the Daisies managed 78 runs, all out in 16.4 overs, while Abigail Amuzu had to retire hurt and return to finish things up, scoring 13 (25). Tulips Captain, Rebecca Adotei, eventual player of the match, led the wickets haul with 3.0-0-12-3 and was backed by Charnotey Tetteh, with 2.4-0-3-3.

The Tulips remained resolute in their 9-wicket victory, sacrificing Christiana Manu 4(18), who was bowled by Sandra Adzokatse on the 3.3 over, while they were 28 runs up.

Rebecca 27*(31) and Anabelle Akosua Falaye 13*(30) finished the game, with a total of 79 runs in 11.4 overs in 62 minutes.

After 3 matches, Accra Lilies lie on top with 6 points, while the Tulips, who had played just 2 outings, follow with 2 points. Accra Daisies are yet to pick a point and are 3rd with no points after 3 games.

On Saturday, January 10, it will be the turn of the Accra Tulips to play their double matches; first, away to Accra Lilies and later in the afternoon against the Daisies.

The Women’s T20 League, which has Ashanti and Central competing concurrently, is to help select a formidable national team for future tournaments.
