Ga West Assembly Rolls Out Major Projects Under District Assembly Common Fund

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West, Hon. John Desmond Sowah Nai, has outlined an ambitious development agenda for the municipality in line with President John Mahama’s National Reset Agenda.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in Amasaman, the MCE emphasized that the vision of Ga West mirrors the President’s broader plan of revitalizing the country’s economy while ensuring inclusive growth at the local level.

“The vision of Ga West is the vision of the President. As Municipal Chief Executives, we are mandated to implement and execute government policies. But beyond that, we have also crafted our own direction, which is to attract industries, companies and investments to create jobs for our youth while leveraging corporate social responsibility to develop our communities,” he said.

He stressed that Ga West’s strategic location, with Amasaman linking directly to Accra, makes it a prime destination for industrialization and business expansion. The MCE also raised concerns about poor road networks, noting that only 5 percent of the municipality’s roads are motorable, and called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways to give urgent attention to the area.
